“The BEST self-catering accommodation I have ever stayed in!”

I have stayed in number of self-catering facilities in Scotland over the years but this one is without a shadow of a doubt the best apartment yet. I often find the self-catering properties poorly equipped, run down, not particularly clean and generally disappointing for the price you pay. The Imperial Apartment truly is a home away from home which offers everything and more for the perfect holiday.

The apartment is located right in the heart of North Berwick just two minutes’ walk from the beach and two minutes’ walk from the Lodge grounds which boast a beautiful garden and park. The High Street shopping street is just outside the door too offering a wonderful selection of bespoke shops. There are several restaurants virtually at the door step and free parking behind the property.

This was the first time we had travelled with a baby. Our daughter was just seven weeks so cleanliness and adequate facilities were a must for us. We found all we needed inside the apartment. Not only that it is beautifully furnished to the highest standard but it was also sparkling clean. To our surprise the owners kindly provided everything we needed for the baby including the travel cot with bedding, moses basket with bedding, baby toiletries, baby bath, baby towels, muslin squares and even a nursing pillow.

Travelling with a baby I could not appreciate more the well-stocked utility room with washer-dryer and everything you need to get your clothes sorted including washing powder, conditioner and even Vanish for the nasty stains!

Everything in the apartment shows that the owners are meticulous about detail and one feels really spoiled. There is quality bedding, choice of pillows, lush towels after that relaxing time under the rain shower and luxurious toiletries. So don´t even bother to bring your own shampoo or shower gel.

The kitchen/living room provides a wonderful place to relax and have fun too. Equipped with quality dishes, Baumatic dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, espresso maker I can´t think of anything you will miss away from home.

The living room has got a huge cosy sofa, two arm chairs and a huge flat screen telly to make everyone comfortable. There is a wii console, free internet and even free phone! The oak furniture throughout the apartment makes it look really beautiful.

I could go on and on about the place which made a truly positive impression on me. I think Scotland definitely needs more of these. I would not hesitate to recommend the Imperial Apartment to anyone and I will definitely bring my family back there.

“Excellent North Berwick Apartment”

5 of 5 stars  Reviewed March 9, 2015

We would highly recommend the Imperial Apartment. It's location is excellent, right in the heart of North Berwick and a stones throw from the beach.

On holiday we always hope we'll find somewhere that offers at least the standards at home or better and the Imperial didn't disappoint. All the home comforts, pristinely clean and beautifully furnished to a high standard. It's also very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable break, from children's toys to cooking utensils. In most self catering holiday properties, even the best of them, there's usually something we wish we'd brought with us, here it's the opposite, there were plenty of things we'd brought that we could have left behind as they'd already been thought of.

North Berwick itself is an excellent base. In fact in the three days we were there there was no need to stray very far. Leisurely walks, browsing the shops and enjoying the top notch local eateries. Our little boy loved the beach even though it's March and still a little cool. We enjoyed our daily walks, playing in the sand, hunting for crabs and collecting shells.

We enjoyed a very relaxing break and would recommend both the Imperial and North Berwick very highly.

“The Best among the Excellent”      5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2014

There are many different things that people look for when they want to rent an apartment.

I stayed at the Imperial for a week and I can tell there is not one thing you wish for that you can't find in it.

As soon as you enter and see in the bedroom the two white, fur spotless clean rugs, you know what you can expect of the rest of the house and you are not disappointed. Everything is not only clean but brilliant, and it is a pleasure to open the drawers and doors in the kitchen and see everything reflected in the pots and pans.

Central heating that you can adjust at your pleasure.

In the living area the chairs as well as all the armchairs are very, very comfortable, especially the brown leather one,and if you wish to read or anything ,you have beside every armchair a table lamp or a floor lamp if needed.

In both bedrooms the mattresses are wonderful and you have a choice of two types of pillows and duvets.

The two fluffy bathrobes as well as the quality linens adds to complete the sensation of comfort.

The location is excellent with the High St. at its door, very near the beach and the bus stop and a little walk to the railway station. It is surrounded by many restaurants and little cafes and supermarkets.

This place is very child friendly. There are toys to entertain children of all ages added to which there is a packet of nappies for an emergency and two fluffy robes for children in two different sizes.

I left this item to the last because for me it was the more important.

The wonderful combination of colours was kept even in small details such as tea towels and binders. The textiles of curtains and cushions are of a very luxurious quality.

All the accessories ,principally all the lightings seems to have been chosen with a great care, and the impressive wall clock in the kitchen as well as the beautiful paintings of North Berwick scenes (painted by the owner) contribute to make this flat unique.

And thank you Tracey for the address of the dentist that you left in the binder, because I have to make use of it and it was very convenient.
